Faculty of Pharmacy

The Faculty of Pharmacy has been established with a vision to nurture talented students with an interest in pharmacy and graduate professionals who would contribute to the field and society at large with their knowledge, discipline and upright morals. To achieve this vision, the Faculty has a team of experienced professors, an up-to-date syllabus and state-of-the-art laboratories with cutting-edge technology.

At the Faculty, the students are taught to develop and adopt strategies to apply foundational sciences like pharmaceuticals, administrative, social, and clinical to identify therapeutic problems. Both students and faculty members are given Industrial visits to update their existing knowledge. Guest lectures by professionals from the healthcare industry are held as well as seminars are organised to give the students an awareness of the industry's demands.

The Pharmacy faculty has laboratories specified for various subjects. It also has machine labs with sophisticated machines. The faculty offers bachelor's programs, master's programs and diploma programs.

Our mission as Faculty of Pharmacy of Kalinga University is to raise qualified pharmacists and scientists, who have conceived principles and ethical concepts of the pharmacy profession, have owned top-level international fit that can serve as first-step health advisors in community health, and have earned property of pursuing the latest scientific and technological progresses in this profession. To contribute to scientific research in our scope at universal and regional levels.

To use the obtained knowledge for the benefit of the community through pharmacy professional service. To become the best and most respected Faculty of Pharmacy in our region under the roof of a faculty which is able to pass on the knowledge necessary for obtaining employment in the international drug industry and the other branches of this profession.

Vision of
Faculty of Pharmacy

Our vision is to grow excellent individuals, who are appropriate with the universal criteria of the pharmacy profession, respectful to his/her job, conscientious, helpful to society, own analytical thinking, inclined to teamwork, and who have earned internationally top-level education and instruction in the scope of pharmaceutical sciences, as well as to serve to an exact science and community health.

The faculty has student laboratories equipped with the latest technological and educational infrastructure necessary for pharmaceutical sciences.

Pharmacy Stream

Pharmacy is the clinical health science that links medical science with chemistry, and it is charged with the discovery, production, disposal, safe and effective use, and control of medications and drugs. Pharmacists are the experts on drug therapy and are the primary health professionals who optimise the use of medication for the benefit of the patients. Therefore, their scope of pharmacy practice includes both traditional roles, such as compounding and dispensing medications, and modern services related to health care, such as clinical services, reviewing medications for safety and efficacy, and providing drug information.

Studying pharmacy enables you to develop skills specific to the role, including:

  • Knowledge of facts and theories relating to the design and manufacture of medicines
  • The ability to communicate effectively with patients & other healthcare professionals
  • Production of pharmacy-specific scientific documentation
  • Operation of pharmaceutical instrumentation
  • Knowledge of the law and ethical concerns relating to the supply of medicines
  • Analysis of medicines

The Indian pharmaceutical industry is one of the largest pharma industries in the world. This increases the scope of pharma studies in India. With the growing pharma industry in India, pharma students have a number of career options. From hospital pharmacists to community pharmacists and the likes of drug inspectors, there are plenty of options to choose from.

Teaching is also becoming a favourable option for students after they gain experience in a particular field. Pharmaceutical marketing and sales are among the highest-paid jobs in India. Students can find employment in hospitals, industries and research labs. In hospitals, both private and government, their job entails procurement and stocking, preparation and dispensing of drugs and health accessories.

What After Completing Pharmacy?

After completing pharmacy, a student is well prepared to sustain as an employee or as an entrepreneur. A pharmacy degree can boost your career prospects, and in many industries having a pharmacy degree will give you the edge over the competition.
